Suprascapular Nerve Block

The suprascapular nerve relays pain from the shoulder joint, in addition to segments of the acromioclavicular joint and the rotator cuff.

Under x-ray and ultrasound guidance, we block it off with a local injection of anaesthetic to provide temporary relief of shoulder pain. If proven effective, your doctor may follow up with other techniques to offer longer-lasting pain relief.
